Their brand dotted all your 'i's and crossed all your 't's. There's just something that draws you toward them. It's not really only about one specific thing, it's a lot more holistic than that but you had to reduce it to one thing or a few things so you could get your head around it and also be able to communicate that to friends or acquaintances who may ask about your 'obsession'. Certainly, I'm not the only one who has felt this kinda way.
What was there not to like? A visionary leader - Vishen Lakhiani himself; one of the world's best places to work (voted & certified); the most inspirational working environment - ever. An organisation built to help people (employees & customers) unleash their truest potential through educational and cutting edge products. Did I mention it's located in Asia and therefore a short flight to destinations such as Singapore, Cambodia and Vietnam? Yup! Dream organisations like Mindvalley actually exist and I so badly wanted to be a part of it. And you know what? I actually interviewed for the position and went through the entire interview process but I didn't get the job. Was I disappointed? Absolutely! Did I stay stuck in self-pity? Absolutely not! Actually, I did, but just for a New York minute.
What happened was, I was forced to look at myself and take a closer look at my motives. My motives led me to my real desire and my real desire led me back to taking an even closer look at myself and I discovered why I didn't get the job and what I needed to do. What I really needed to do, was what I really wanted to do, and that was not what I was currently doing.
She was so passionate, focused, clear and committed that you could not help wanting to be a part of her creation - Bajan Fusion. A Healthy Lifestyle Event Management Service fusing fitness and empowering communities. Again, what was there not to love?
It was not only about the event when I went zip lining with Bajan Fusion, it was about the vibe and the tribe Celia had built. Everyone there was so cool; it was so much fun and I felt right at home and as if I'd known these total strangers forever. Those of you who know me well, know that I'm into food - big time and the fact that super healthy snacks and beverages were included was a very pleasant surprise and made the occasion even better.
I was happy for and admired Celia because she returned to a place she'd not lived in ages and was able to build Bajan Fusion from scratch. Honestly, I was a little jealous (not in a bad way). More in a 'If she can do it so can I, type of way. Admittedly, it takes a certain type of person with a certain mindset to pull this off; it certainly isn't for the faint at heart. She indicated it wasn't easy; however, she did it with what she had and from where she was and most of all she was HAPPY. The key take away is to pull a NIKE and 'just do it' - take the first step.
Is there and organisation or individual out there you want to align yourself with?
What do you like about them? What do they stand for? Chances are, what you see in them is also very much in you! Who knew?
In the meantime...Give thanks. Eat clean. Train hard. Sleep deep
